Government Day convenes approximately 175 standout grassroots advocates in Washington, D.C., each year for four days of education, fellowship building, and celebration. Together, you'll share the impact of type 1 diabetes on your life with Members of Congress and advocate for legislation and policies that support the T1D community.

The JDRF New Member Outreach Initiative provides a meaningful way to forge relationships between newly seated Members of Congress and their constituents in the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. During ‘New Member,’ JDRF Advocates engage in meetings locally in the Members’ home states to share their personal connections to T1D – articulating the financial, medical, and emotional costs of the disease. These meetings give voice to those impacted by T1D, and highlight the essential role new Members can play in securing Federal funding for T1D research and supporting health and regulatory policy that improves the quality of life for those affected by T1D, until we find a cure
